2005 Yom HaShoah Commemoration to Feature 60th Anniversary of the Holocaust Liberation

The 2005 St. Louis community-wide commemoration of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), “Liberation, Voices of Remembrance and Renewal,” will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, at Brith Sholom Kneseth Israel and will mark the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II and the liberation of survivors of the Holocaust.

The event will feature testimonies and memories of St. Louis survivors, liberators and witnesses. Special guest will be St. Louis attorney Whitney R. Harris, who was a member of the U.S. prosecution team at the Nuremberg War crimes trials and author of Tyranny on Trial. The program will include music performed by members of the St. Louis Symphony and the lighting of memorial candles.
