Torah Study  Jan. 22

The parsha for this week tells of the parting of the Reed Sea , the song we sang in celebration for which the day is named Shabbat Shira, and the words that became our prayer, Mi Chomocha.  I want to explore some of the Midrashic stories based on this text.  Come and learn some of the legends of the Jews.

The Next Torah study will be Feb. 26 , parsha Ki Tisa which includes the Golden Calf, receiving the second set of 10 Commandments, and the 13 attributes of G-d that we recite on Yom Kippur; another portion rich in legend and learning beyond the literal words.
