University City Symphony Orchestra performs Sunday Nov. 12, 3 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church (Clemens at Westgate in U. City). The concert and reception that follows are free. The scheduled program includes:
Paul Wexler's Klezmer Suite
(Paul plays Extra Clarinet with the St. Louis Symphony and is clarinetist for the Lake Placid Sinfionetta in upstate New York. He helped spark St. Louis' Klezmer revival as a founding member of Yidn and Klezundheit! He also performs on early wind instruments such as Shawm, Krummhorn, Dulcian, and Recorder and is an arranger and composer.)
Corigliano's The Red Violin, Chaconne for Violin and Orchestra with soloist Silvian Iticovici (Silvian is 2nd Associate concertmaster of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.)
and works by Tchaikovsky and African American composer, George Walker.
