YOM HASHOA HOLOCAUST COMMEMORATION
Brith Sholom Knesset Israel will commemorate Yom Hashoa (Holocaust) in a special assembly, sponsored jointly by the BSKI Men's Club and the combined BSKI and Shaare Zedek congregational Sunday school, Shaare Shalom, Sunday, April 23, at 11 AM in the Allen Sanctuary, 1107 E. Linden Avenue, Richmond Heights, Mo.
Parents and children in the middle and high school as well as all members of both congregations and the general Jewish and non-Jewish communities are invited to hear Joel Portman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Portman of Chesterfield, discuss his tour of Poland as part of a summer 2005 educational program that traced the involvement of Polish Jewry and their eventual settlement of those remnants of the Holocaust in Israel.
Joel is an officer leaders of the BSKI United Synagogue Youth Chapter, a student faculty member of the Sunday School and a Senior at Parkway West Senior High. Joel's presentation will include an "open microphone" question and answer session.
Parents are asked to use their own discretion concerning attendance of children under middle school age.
