Israel Information and Education Committee
Mission Statement

It is proposed that BSKI establish a committee to be named the Israel Information and Education Committee, consisting of members interested in issues relating to Israel, which will be responsible for coordinating BSKI's efforts to provide information and education about Israel. The Committee will provide a vehicle to advocate for the State of Israel and also provide a forum where a variety of views may be expressed.

The Committee will periodically report about its activities to the President and the BSKI Board of Trustees as requested.

The responsibilities of the Committee will include the following:

• Inform BSKI members about Israel, its people, culture and history, Jewish life in Israel, and Israel's efforts to find peace.

• Utilize all reasonable means of available publicity: the BSKI Bulletin; the BSKI Web Site ( www.e-bski.org ); mailings to BSKI members; lectures by staff, members and guests, etc.

• Explore the organization of a BSKI-sponsored trip to Israel.

• Explore opportunities for BSKI to work with the Jewish Community Relations Council and other local Jewish organizations to enhance knowledge about Israel and foster a better understanding of Israel.

• Coordinate with the Jewish Community Relations Council and other local Jewish organizations regarding Israel-related events in the community.

• Act as BSKI's representative in liaison activities with St. Louis' Israeli sister city, Yokneam/Megiddo.

• Other responsibilities to be determined by the Committee.
